4 Creative ways to choose a wedding date

One of the biggest decisions to make when planning your big day is to determine a wedding date.

Oh, but when?! There are so many factors to take into account when choosing a wedding date – from seasons to availability, and of course, preference.

Just keep in mind that this date will also be your anniversary date for the foreseeable future, so choose wisely. 🙂

4 Creative ways to choose a wedding date

Choosing your wedding date is super important, but it isn’t the only part of your planning process that is.

Besides having a really great calendar date, you need to take into account your wedding budget, the wedding party and their details, your dress, flowers and decor, locations, the honeymoon, and the list goes on!

That is why I have created a wedding planner that includes worksheets for it all – over 500 pages neatly organized by section to help you plan all the things for your wedding day! The best part? It is fully editable with the free version of Canva, an easy-to-use online editing program. Have a look at the wedding planner here.

1. An already significant date

For your wedding date, why not choose an already special day on which something happened?

This could be your birthday, your fiance’s birthday, your first date, your first kiss, etc.

2. Their favorite season vs. yours

If your significant other loves summer, but you’re more into the colder weather, meet somewhere in between, such as Spring or Autumn.

3. Play a game

There’s nothing like a good game to make a big decision such as choosing your wedding date!

Use darts to throw at a calendar month, or blindfold each other and pinpoint a date with your finger or a marker!

It will also make for a good story to tell.

4. Ask someone else to intervene

If you’re really stuck, let someone else take the lead on choosing a wedding date – such as your parents!

The Editable Wedding Planner templates are fully customizable in the free version of Canva, and include everything you need – from the wedding budget, guest list, and catering, to planning a bridal shower, engagement party, and more!
