How to make wedding planning fun!

Planning your big day can be stressful and overwhelming. Fret not! These tips will help you to make wedding planning fun!

Wait. Why would you need to make wedding planning fun? Shouldn’t you be super ecstatic about planning The Best Day Ever?

The reality is, most newly engaged people will reach a point where planning a wedding seems daunting. You may feel uninspired, and just not up to it.

And that’s okay!

However, you also need to keep your wedding timeline in mind if you already have a date or an idea of when you want to get married.

Time moves fast, and before you know it, you’re in a time crunch and wedding planning becomes stressful…

To avoid that, here are some ways for you to make wedding planning fun!

1. Have a dedicated space

One thing that will help you to get started (or continue) planning your wedding is to dedicate a space in your home where you can calmly sit and do all the planning.

Make this space yours by decorating it, adding things you like, creating a mood board, and adding lovely stationery.

Create a space that brings you joy!

2. Decorate your wedding planning space

Motivate yourself to actually sit down and plan your wedding by decorating your space.

I’m adding some beautiful things here for you to create a more welcoming space in your home.

3. Keep everything together

One thing that may completely discourage you from planning your wedding is if everything is scattered and all over the place.

You might find yourself in a store and see something you like, only to find that you’ve left your trusty wedding planner at home.

So, make sure you keep everything together either in a box or a tote bag like this one:

4. Have a good wedding planner book

Having a decent wedding planner book in place will help you to keep track of everything needed for the wedding.

There are so many out there, but you can read about the top 5 wedding planning books over here.

Also, be sure to check out these wonderful planners who will help you to plan your wedding in a fun and organized way:

5. Make wedding planning fun with humor

Nothing beats humor in stressful times, so that being said, you can incorporate some chuckle-inducing items to make your wedding planning more fun and exciting.

We couldn’t pass this one up:

6. Stay organized

Falling in by number 3, nothing can be more draining than not having all your wedding planning things together and organized.

Staying organized is a very effective way to make wedding planning fun. Plus it’s super satisfactory to have everything neatly packaged together and being able to carry on where you left off.

One way to stay organized is by having a wedding planner with dividers and tabs, and keeping this planner in your dedicated wedding planning space.

7. Pretty pens, stickers, and more!

If you’re an avid stationery lover like most of us who love planning, then don’t forget about these small items to make your wedding planning even more fun.

You can buy additional things like stickers separately to add to your planner, or you can buy a bundle which normally includes everything in one kit, like these ones:

8. Keep ideas and inspiration nearby

Surround yourself with all the pretty things so that you keep being motivated to plan your gorgeous wedding.

You can do this by having a mood board nearby, some glossy wedding magazines, and inspirational books.

We love this set from The Knot:

9. Being comfy makes wedding planning fun, too!

Not only does it help to have a dedicated space to make wedding planning fun, but it also helps if you are comfy, too.

So, once it’s time for all the planning to happen, get comfy in your PJ’s, have your favorite drink nearby, and work through your planner.

Invest in these super fluffy slippers:

10. Get in the zone

Finally, it’s time to lean into yourself to make wedding planning more enjoyable.

Meaning, find the best time that suits your wedding planning needs. Maybe you’re a morning person, so get up early and spend half an hour in your planning space.

Or, maybe you’re a night owl, and the best time for planning is when everyone else is asleep.

Whatever is the best time for you, get in the wedding planning zone, make a good cup of coffee or tea, have your favorite pen on hand, and have fun planning your wedding!

The Wedding Club says: “If you really feel down and out about planning your wedding, it’s time to involve others in this process, too. Planning a wedding is stressful, so ask a friend, or your fiance even, add some cocktails and snacks and make your wedding planning fun again!
